2022 Nissan Frontier

What's New for the 2022 Nissan Frontier?

Sweeping changes are in store for the Nissan Frontier in 2022, scheduled to hit the streets in the summer months of 2021. The Frontier gets many new and even class-leading features this year, including its best-of-class towing capacity of up to 6,720 pounds. The latest Frontier is also the most tech-savvy of its kind, and its new tech features also make it stand out in its class.

With the 2022 Frontier comes cutting-edge safety technology, including new safety aids for towing and a brand new camera that helps you get a clearer view of the Frontier's path on the trails. Nissan also gives the Frontier's cabin an upgrade with Zero Gravity seats, which stand out for their supreme comfort, and more storage and organizational space for your personal belongings.

What Are the Frontier Trims & Features?

The 2022 Nissan Frontier comes with four trim levels available. The first trim is the S. The second is the SV, which benefits from a few updates, including a new touchscreen and more safety technology. The Pro-X is the third trim, followed by a fourth new trim for 2022 called the Pro-4X. The S trim is available in two cab lengths. The cabin is now more upscale than the previous base trim, with Zero Gravity seating and more soft-touch materials. Trailer Sway Control is a newly-added safety feature, and you will get an eight-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The SV trim includes four USB charging ports, including a USB-C charging port. You can also get a new 9-inch touchscreen with the SV. This trim includes the new trail-specific camera monitoring system as well. The Pro-X builds on that package with heated mirrors, rear parking sensors, a roof rack, and a sunroof. The Pro-4X has custom leather upholstery, alloy wheels, and standard four-wheel drive.

What's Under the Hood of the Nissan Frontier?

The Nissan Frontier has one engine for all four trims. A V6 engine that runs on gasoline cranks out 310 HP in power, and it pulls up to 6,720 pound. The payload increases slightly to 1,610 pounds for 2022. Four-wheel drive is standard on the top trim and optional with the other trim levels. A new nine-speed transmission is also standard with smooth gear-shifting technology.

Technologies To Keep You Safe

Trailering is made safer in the Frontier with standard Trailer Sway Control. You'll also add protection through the Nissan Safety Shield 360 package with six advanced safety aids in addition to a 360-degree camera that monitors your moves on off-road adventures.
