What's New For the 2020 Nissan Sentra?

Nissan is bringing the Sentra into 2020 with an updated exterior and cabin. The car is lower, wider and longer. This gives it a lower center of gravity and a more assertive style. The hood slopes toward the V-motion front grille, which is settled down into the bumper for a more appealing, cohesive appearance.

Inside, the Sentra has upscale refinements that give it a premier feel. These include a flat-bottom steering wheel and circular air vents in the center of the dash. There's a floating infotainment system with an 8-inch screen and multiple storage cubbies for convenience.

Which Features are Available for 2020?

The 2020 Sentra trims are S, SV, and SR. Go with the S if you want the basic features and lowest price tag. If you want more tech, safety, and interior features, go for the SR. The 2020 Sentra S has a range of features including a 7-inch touch screen infotainment center and Intelligent Trace Control Cruise Control. The next trim level is the SV and comes with Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant, an 8-inch touch screen display, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The SR model includes the same tech features as the SV trim level and includes LED fog lights, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, sport cloth interior, and leather-wrapped shift knob. Optional equipment includes a heated front seat, and steering wheel, a Bose premium audio system with eight speakers.

How does the Nissan Sentra Engine Balance Power Needs and Fuel Economy?

2020 Nissan Sentra

It's likely that Nissan will give the 2020 Sentra the 2.0-liter, 141-horsepower engine that was previously available in the Rogue Sport. This will give it a little more punch, but it should keep the gas mileage of about 29 mpg city/37 mpg highway. One advantage of the newer profile of the 2020 Sentra is that it has a reduced drag coefficient of 0.26. This lets it put up better performance stats even with the base power train.

Affordable and Packed with Safety Features Galore

The Nissan Sentra is a standout when it comes to safety. You're probably familiar with most of these safety features. They include forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring and alerts, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Another safety feature on the 2020 Sentra is an automatic emergency braking system. The purpose of this is to protect the driver from "accidental misuse of pedals." The most common example of this is when the driver intends to step on the brake and hits the gas by mistake.
