What's New For the 2019 Nissan Frontier?

The all-new 2019 Nissan Frontier is a brand new addition to Nissan for the year and their most recent Frontier model to hit the market. The new Frontier shares much in common with previous mid-sized trucks in its line and is currently part of only the second generation of vehicles in the series. It is capable of driving in off-road conditions and contains a new 7-inch touchscreen display for certain trim models.

New Features and Highlights

The 2019 Frontier is packed with different features to go along with the number of trim levels that come with it. The Frontier comes in five different trim levels: the S, SV, Desert Runner, Pro-4X and the SL. The S trim is the base model and contains standard features like two-wheel drive, 15-inch steel wheels, cloth bucket front seats and rear privacy glass. The SV model is slightly more advanced and contains an upgraded interior, 16-inch alloy wheels, window power accessories and a sunroof as a possible option. The Desert Runner trim upgrades the SV model a bit and includes better interior styling, new foglights and special off-road tires. The Pro-4X trim is built for more serious off-road driving and has only a four-wheel drive option, but also has a luxury package that includes a sunroof, heated mirrors and power-adjustable front seats. The SL is the most advanced trim and while it's no longer built for off-road driving, it does maintain its sunroof, gain 18-inch alloy wheels and a new trailer hitch.

Engine and Performance

2019 Nissan Frontier Exterior FrontThe 2019 Nissan Frontier is outfitted with an engine that suits all of its capabilities and functions. For a truck, the engine of the Frontier can generate 281 feet per pounds of torque and put out a 261 horsepower rating while riding at up to 5,600 wheel rotations per minute. The engine also runs on a rear-wheel drive train and normally has a 5-speed automatic transmission, though this may change depending on the trim model series. The base model runs on regular unleaded fuel and has an EPA of a combined 19 miles per gallon, getting 16 MPGs on the roads and 23 MPGs when on the highway.

Advance Safety Features

2019 Nissan Frontier Exterior RearThe Nissan Frontier, like all newly made vehicles, is meant to be a secure ride and as such, contains a number of different safety features to ensure that it remains a comfortable and safe ride. The first safety measure taken into account for the Frontier was including rear door child safety locks and seat anchors for any younger passengers. Truck stability and traction have all been improved, with the addition of a new 4-wheel ABS system and engine immobilizer for the engine. A tire pressure monitoring system is in place to keep track of the wheel status and front and rear ventilated disc brakes are put in place to ensure the braking system remains stable. For more advanced trim models, a remote anti-theft alarm system has been put in place to alert drivers of any thievery or vandalism attempts.
