What's New For The 2019 Nissan NV?

Not a whole lot is new on the 2019 Nissan NV, which has been in its first generation since 2012. The only alteration that is worth mentioning is the standardization of voice controls and the 7-inch touchscreen display across the entire line-up. Other than that, most things carry over unchanged.

2019 Nissan NV Trims & Features

This model year, you can opt for either the Cargo or the Passenger model, depending on your needs. These vans both comes as a 1500 (with sub-trims S V6 and SV V6), 2500 HD Cargo (S V6, S V8, SV V6, and SV V8), or 3500 HD Cargo (S V8, SV V8, and SL V8) trim. The base trim has a 4.0-L V6, while the beefy V8 is a 5.6-L. The base trim comes with Bluetooth connectivity, power windows and doors, cruise control, remote keyless entry, a rear-view camera, a USB port, and the newly standardized 7-inch touchscreen display. The SV trim gives you steering wheel-mounted audio system controls, a 6-speaker sound system, multiple 12-volt power outlets, and parking sensors for the rear of the van. Of course, the SL has the most to offer with features like the NissanConnect mobile apps, an automatically dimming rear-view mirror, and dual-zone climate control up front. However, it is only available with the V8 engine equipped. You can also opt for the Navigation package if you would like to add a few extra features to the navigation system.

2019 Nissan NV Horsepower

2019 Nissan NV Exterior FrontMake no mistake; these vans are packed with power. The NV's base V6 engine is able to muster up 261 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque, which is adequate for a vehicle of this size. However, the 5.6-L V8 has more to offer with its generous 375 hp and 387 lb-ft of torque. Of course, you will have to pay more if you want that additional horsepower. Still, it can be worth it for the power upgrade, which makes for a noticeable difference between these two engines.

2019 Nissan NV Safety

2019 Nissan NV Exterior RearBoth the Cargo and Passenger variants of the 2019 Nissan NV are packed with plenty of standard safety features. Having a rear-view camera equipped comes in handy on a big van like this where there are a lot of blind spots and difficulties seeing out the back. The fog lights and front sensors on the line-topping SL are attractive upgrades, and they can be pretty practical whether you are driving for work or play. Having Bluetooth and voice recognition come standard alleviates a lot of the burden - and hazards - of trying to use your fingers to manage controls scattered along the center console. And, with plenty of controls mounted onto the steering wheel, a lot of features are safely within the driver's reach.
