Specs at a Glance

The Nissan Murano doesn't get many changes to its exterior in 2021. Instead, it retains the same sharp-looking and attractive exterior that has given it a distinguished appearance in the past. The interior, however, has some upgrades that affect all trims in the lineup, beginning with the base trim called the S. At the base level, you can now get a full set of advanced safety aids that come with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 package. Heated seats in both rows offered as an available upgrade for the second trim are standard if you select the SL.

Performance

Performance features are the same for the Nissan Murano in 2021, regardless of whether you choose the S or the SL trim levels. Both have a 3.5L V6 gasoline engine with 24 valves. Their horsepower and torque output is identical at 260 HP at 6,000 RPM and 240 LB-FT in torque at 4,400 RPM. You will get front-wheel drive as the standard drivetrain with either trim, but you can also switch to Nissan's own unique all-wheel drive system instead if you need better traction and handling in inclement conditions.

Appearance

Both the S and the SL have aluminum alloy wheels, but they come in different sizes. The standard wheel size for the base trim is 18 inches, while the higher-end SL trim starts with 20-inch wheels instead. Both the S and SL Murano trim levels come with all-season tires. LED headlights with daytime running lights are included from the S trim level and up. It also has automatic headlights. A few more features come with the SL trim, including LED fog lights. Silver roof rails are also included on the SL trim level, which is nicely accented by chrome door handles. A dual-pane panoramic moonroof is available on the SL.

Features

Dual-zone air conditioning and push-button ignition are standard amenities with the base trim level, while the SL upgrades to remote engine start and intelligent climate control. The S and SL have three 12V power outlets and an infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Ambient interior lighting gives the cabin of the SL a more luxurious and contemporary look. The S and SL have Nissan's Safety Shield package with a 360-degree monitor, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking as standard safety amenities. Advanced airbags and hands-free technology with the infotainment system are other standard safety aids.
