- Map your route in advance. That’s why it’s important to always map out your full route and bring a paper map with you, as a slopping internet connection may make Google Maps worthless.
- Stop in for service. Servicing your vehicle before you head out on a major road trip is essential. A simple oil change, tire rotation and general inspection will give you the peace of mind of knowing that your car is fully operational during the hectic days of holiday travel.
- Keep your phone charged. While you should never solely rely on your phone for directions, the little devices to come in handy in case of an accident or if you do in fact find yourself in an unfamiliar part of town.
- Bring your roadside assistance info. Like we said before, holiday traffic can be very hectic, so always make sure you have your roadside assistance information handy, in case of an accident, flat tire or other possible emergencies.
