2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo Makes World Debut

Sentra lovers, there’s now even more to love about this top-selling Nissan. Meet the new 2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo. The sporty new ride recently made its world debut at the 46th annual Miami International Auto Show. And we expect it to be a big hit with car buyers when it hits Nissan of McKinney later this year.

Moved by a brand-new 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, the new Sentra SR Turbo is the perfect anecdote for all you speed freaks out there. It raises the bar for the 2017 Sentra lineup with its ability to achieve 50 percent more horsepower than the 1.8-liter Sentra SR engine. The new powerplant makes 188 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. This means the vehicle generates 64 more horsepower and 52 more pound-feet of torque than non-turbo 2017 Sentra models.

"The Sentra SR Turbo is designed for buyers who want all the attributes of traditional compact sedans but also desire some serious turbo performance," said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America, Inc.

Aside from its powerful mechanics, the car also gets special SR Turbo badging and a power sliding glass moonroof. Plus, if you decide to go with the Premium Package, you’ll get Blind-Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, leather-appointed seating and a Bose audio system that boast eight speakers.

The 2017 Nissan Sentra is offered in four other trims: S, SV, SR and SL. Sporty, agile and fun to drive, the Sentra SR Turbo is a perfect pick.
